Following some apparent outages on Thursday, Reddit dealt with more issues Friday evening that lasted for around two hours.Initially, when I logged in on my desktop browser during Friday’s outage, Reddit wouldn’t load at all — I would just run into error pages. In an incognito window, the site loaded, though it seemed to load slower than usual. I was also able to load the site on mobile Safari while logged out and after I logged in.Reddit’s status page said in a 7:58PM ET message that “We’re experiencing an elevated level of errors and are currently looking into the issue.”…

We have identified a rare issue affecting less than 0.5% (half a percent) of GeForce RTX 5090 / 5090D and 5070 Ti GPUs which have one fewer ROP than specified. Apple just released its first developer betas of a new round of software updates, and early testers have spotted support for Priority Notifications in the iOS 18.4 preview. It’s an Apple Intelligence-powered feature that uses on-device processing to try to detect which updates are especially important and sort them into a separate section above your other notifications. According to 9to5Mac, the Priority Notifications feature is turned off by default in this first developer beta, but you can enable it with a toggle in the notifications area of the settings menu. What we haven’t seen yet, however, are details about an upgraded…

Neither his post nor the one from Coinbase mentioned the funding contributed to political campaigns in the last election cycle, where CNBC noted Coinbase was one of the top corporate donors. It gave over $75 million to Fairshake and other pro-crypto PACs and made a reported seven-figure donation to Trump’s inaugural committee, and Armstrong reportedly made more than $1.3 million in personal contributions. As Bloomberg points out, Armstrong referred to this in a podcast interview last year, saying, “To actually be on everyone’s radar and have political power in DC and actually matter, a couple of things were required: One was…

YouTube is about to officially launch a cheaper, “premium lite” version of its subscription service in the US, Australia, Germany and Thailand, according to Bloomberg. This new tier will “target viewers who primarily want to watch programs other than music videos,” Bloomberg says. The publication didn’t say what the price might be.YouTube piloted a no-ads version of a tier called Premium Lite in some European countries beginning in 2021 before axing the plan in 2023. But the company confirmed to The Verge in October that it was testing a “different version” of Premium Lite, and at least one user reported…

Reddit experienced “international outages,” NetBlocks, a global internet monitor, said in a post Thursday evening, though it appears the outages have resolved. In that post, the organization said that the incident was “not related to country-level internet disruptions or filtering.”There was also a big spike of outage reports on Downdetector, with a peak of around 56,000 reports at 7:27PM ET, but the volume of reports appears to have dropped off considerably. On Thursday evening, I saw many posts on X, Threads, and Bluesky indicating that Reddit was down for them, too.But that being said, I didn’t run into any problems…

The Humane AI Pin has collapsed, but Rabbit is still kicking. The company published a blog post and video today showing off a “generalist Android agent,” slowly controlling apps on a tablet in much the same way that Rabbit claimed its R1 device would over a year ago. (It couldn’t, and can’t.) The work builds on LAM Playground, a “generalist web agent” Rabbit launched last year. The engineers don’t use the Rabbit R1 at all for the demonstration. Instead, they type their requests into a prompt box on a laptop, which translates them to actions on an Android tablet. They task…
