The chain, known for serving ‘Chicago street food,’ currently operates 94 restaurants across 10 US states.

Hot dogs and chocolate cake won’t be the only things Portillo’s serves in the coming months, as Chicagoans will be the first to get a taste of the chain’s new breakfast items.

The company announced last week it will begin testing breakfast at five Chicagoland locations on April 15, available daily from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for a limited time this summer.

The limited-time menu offers a lineup of “savory egg sandwiches with a Portillo’s twist, an exclusive chocolate cake donut collaboration with Stan’s Donuts, locally roasted coffee from Metropolis Coffee, and even the brand’s iconic Italian Beef – now breakfast-approved,” the company said in a news release on April 11.

As part of the test, the company is also offering Breakfast Meal Deals, which feature a signature breakfast sandwich, a small coffee and hash brown bites for $7.99.

Which Portillo’s locations will serve breakfast?

The five Portillo’s locations that will serve breakfast include:

  • Canal and Taylor: 520 W Taylor St, Chicago, IL
  • Elmhurst: 155 S Route 83, Elmhurst, IL
  • Tinley Park: 15900 S Harlem Ave, Tinley Park, IL
  • Shorewood: 1155 Brook Forest Ave, Shorewood, IL
  • Niles: 8832 W Dempster St, Niles, IL

The chain, known for serving “Chicago street food,” currently operates 94 restaurants across 10 states, including a recently opened location in Kennesaw, Georgia, the company’s first location in Georgia.

What is on Portillo’s breakfast menu?

According to the company, Portillo’s breakfast menu is “packed with bold, satisfying options made with quality ingredients and local flair.”

The menu includes signature breakfast sandwiches, such as a Polish Sausage, Egg & Cheese featuring Portillo’s signature chargrilled Polish sausage, and a Portillo’s Chocolate Cake Donut inspired by the brand’s famous chocolate cake.

Additionally, morning sides such as fresh fruit cups and hash brown bites will be available, as well as Portillo’s signature Italian Beef sandwich, served on fresh French bread.
