Thanks to an event page on LEGO’s official website, we have our very first look at 10354 The Shire, the next LEGO Lord of the Rings set coming in April 2025!

The Meet The Designer event credits the model designer, Kenyon Andrew Brady, who will be signing copies of The Shire on Saturday, 5 April 2025 from 10am – 12pm at the Leicester Square Flagship store in London.

This points to an early April 2025 release date for the set, which looks a lot smaller and scaled down than last year’s epic 10333 Barad-Dur and 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell, so our wallets can likely breath a collective sigh.

Update: It seems like LEGO have taken the event page down, so here’s a screenshot I saved.

“In a hole in the ground, there lived a Hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort

The set features 9 minifigures, Bilbo Baggins, Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, Gandalf the Grey (with his fireworks cart), Merry Brandybuck, Peregrin (Pippin) Took (with their faces and hair burnt by exploding fireworks!), as well as new characters, Rosie Cotton (Sam’s love interest), as well as the two other Hobbits, which I believe may be Odo Proudfoot and Mrs Proudfoot, judging by their outfits.

Remember these disapproving Hobbits from when Gandalf returns to The Shire?

LEGO Lord of the Rings fans will of course be delighted for a modern version of Bag Eng, this time from The Fellowship of the Ring, instead of The Hobbit movies, like we got in 2012 with 79003 An Unexpected Gathering.

This is a proper glow-up for LEGO Lord of the Rings fans for sure!

The set also includes tents and the stage from Bilbo’s birthday party where he dramatically stages a disappearance thanks to the One Ring, in the middle of his speech.

For LEGO Lord of the Rings fans, especially those who missed out on the 2012 version, a LEGO Bag End model has been high on everyone’s wishlist, and looking at the size of this the model, I hope it won’t cost anywhere as near as 10333 Barad-Dur  and 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell!

At this stage, we don’t have any more release details of 10354 The Shire beyond this one image, so stay tuned for LEGO’s official reveal of the model, which will include pricing, piece count, release date and of course, more detailed photos!

What do you think of 10354 The Shire? Are you looking forward to adding this to your collection?
